Cell Technology: monocrystalline of about 14% efficiency
Module characteristics: Modules of output 70 Wp at standard
test conditions (STC) of 1000 W/m2 insolation, AirMass 1.5,
and temperature of 25 degree celsius
Array inclined at 15 degree, facing south
A microprocessor based power conditioning unit will convert the DC power
generated by the PV array to 3-phase AC and feed it into the grid in synchronisation
with the grid power
The power conversion unit will have a maximum power point tracker (MPPT)
so that the maximum possible energy shall be drawn from the grid at all
times
The PCU can automatically synchronise with the grid, shutdown in case of
faults and very low power generation, and automatic wake-up from shutdown
state
The IGBT based inverter in the PCU will be of very high efficiency – about
90% for output ranging from 20% to 90% of rated capacity and about 95%
at full load
The current harmonic distortion will be less that 5%
The PCU can be controlled through an interface provided on the fron panel
of the PCU
The PCU will also have facility for remote monitoring and controlling through
a PC connected to it through a modem/telephone line
