Atma-Darshan,
Centre for Spirituality and
Counselling was blessed and inaugurated on
October
1, 1998. The centre has come up because
of the efforts of the Society of the Divine Word
(SVD).
It fills the void that has been always felt by the
crowded city of Mumbai for a place where one can
go,
irrespective of his/her religion and make good the
words
of Jesus "Come to me, all of you who are tired
from carrying your heavy loads, and I will give
you rest" (Mt. 11:28).
MISSION
STATEMENT:
"Our foremost obligation is the proclamation of the Word. We proclaim the love which the Father offers all, the saving power by which Jesus Christ frees us from sin and death and the new life which the Holy Spirit bestows on all believers. Our proclamation should be such, that it radiates the splendour of the Good News, so that God’s message can be recongnized on our words ". (The Constitution of the Society of the Divine Word, no.107).
ATMA-DARSHAN, Centre for Spirituality and Counselling, translates this mandate into action.
