STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: There is a vast need of qualified gospel preachers in Asia.Many youngmen desire preaching and devote their lives to preaching.Most of these men need proffesional training to equip themselves for faithful preaching of the gospel of Christ. After much careful consideration of the needs,opportunities and obligations the church in choolaimedu,chennai has made a decision to start a Bible College.First enrollment started in 1986.Over the past several years many were graduated from the world Bible School an college.
Degree programme
The college involves a three year programme of intensive study and training.Every subject taught is one related to the needs of gospel preaching in Asia.Both faculty and students engage in creative reserch projects designed to discover,conserve and propagate knowledge of christianity.the world Bible College seeks to deepen the faith of it's students,to increase their commitment to Christ and His church.The B.Th degree is accredited by the World Wide Accreditation Association.We bring men to college who are determined to serve the Lord to the best of their ability.To the purpose of training men to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ,the World Bible College is totally and prayerfully dedicated.
HISTORY OF THE BIBLE COLLEGE: The recognition of the need for the training of ministers to preach Christ and establish the Church in Asia led to the conception of the World Bible College. The school was opened in 1986 with the view to enroll students from the state of Tamil Nadu,India.Now students from 4 nations are enrolled.In the early stages the school offered a deploma programme.But as more students from Asia were seeking a degree programme the College introduced B.Th degree programme in 1996. An M.BS programme is offered from 2000.
A two years deploma programme also is offered by the college.
SUMMER SCHOOL A good number of christians are desirous of preaching the gospel.Most of them need training.As they are holding secular job responsibilities in their local areas they are unable to devote long time for formal training.to meet the need of these people the college offers a short time summer course.The duration of this course is three weeks. CHAPEL SERVICES: The chapel service is one of the most important periods of the day.Both students and faculty assist in planing programmes which help to create a feeling of unity and purpose of the college. The quite reverence of the devotional periods and the thoughtful consideration of vital questions in human living provide meaningful experiences which are cherished throughout the life of the student. GENERAL POLICIES GOVERNING THE STUDENTS,FACULTY AND STAFF The right of sharing the privileges of the World Bible College community involves corresponding responsibilities.These include the recognition of the administration and faculty of the world Bible College. Certain standards of integrity are expected to be met by students,faculty and staff are stated here for self discipline and support by all members of the World Bible College Community.Each of us may expect from the other absolute honesty in all relationships,responsibilities and tasks;integrity and good stewardship in all financial obligations and dealings;conscientious concern for each other in matters of personal habits attitudes and actions;demonstration of a spirit which recognizes the leadership of Christ and expresses the Biblical concept of love for God and man;a caring attitude of the natural beauty of the world and it's resources;an appreciation of the campus of the World Bible college and a custodial concern for maintaining both it's natural and physical fecilities.
Medical Help
WE SERVE THE PEOPLE IN THEIR PHYSICAL NEEDS TOO.The WBS Faith hospital is located close to the World Bible School and College.Average 100 poor patients receive medical treatment free of cost every day.
Mobile Gospel Team
In a nation where mobile clinics,mobile post offices,mobilelibraries,mobile courts are well known we started the mobile gospel team in 1991.The mobile gospel team goes into remote villages to help people to know God's love and care for them.They not only share the gospel of Jesus Christ but the medical team gives free medical treatment to the poor sick people.
Correspondance course
For those who are not able to come to the Bible College for knowledge in God's word we offer a correspondance course.You can study God's word in the privacy of your home.Course available in Tamil,Telugu,Malayala,Hindi,Nepali and english language.
Tailoring School
Unemployment is a big problem in this nation.We help people to overcome this problem.The world Bible School offers training in tailoring free of cost.Many have made use of this opportunity in Chennai.some of them are employed in garment factories.Others make cloths in their homes.
Auto Ministry
Many people use autorikshaws for short travell.People use it to go see a doctor,a patient,a troubled friend,to attend a funeral,to seek an employment and many other purposes.comforting spiritual songs are played through the casset player in the auto.Good news of Jesus is shared in the auto.Like Philip the evangelist shared the good news of Jesus to the Ehiopian in Acts Chapter 8.This programme is primarly not to make money. But for the comfort of the passengers who carries loads of problems while travell.
