FOR ADMISSION TO 1ST YEAR HONOURS AND GENERAL DEGREE (B.A./B.Com./B.Sc.) CLASSES, 2003-2004.

1. Admission STRICTLY ON THE BASIS OF MERIT.

2. No candidate will be allowed to take up a subject in which he/she could not obtain PASS MARKS in the said subject at the previous qualifying examination.

3. Applicants are directed to submit separate application forms for different Honours subjects & different combination e.g. English (Hons.), Bengali (Hons.), B.A.(General) etc.

4. Eligibility for admission to 1st year classes- Passed in H.S. or equivalent examinations.

10. NORMS AND SCHEDULE OF APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION :

  1. Eligible candidates seeking admission are required to purchase printed 'APPLICATION FORM' costing Rs. 15/- only for B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Seperate form to be submitted for separate subject of Honours/ General.

B.     Students eligible for direct admission will not be eligible for admission through filling up forms.

C.     Application form duly filled in along with PHOTOCOPY of mark-sheet is to be submitted to the College Office as per schedule 9. [Photograph may be submitted later]

NO APPLICATION FORM WILL BE RECEIVED WITHOUT ATTESTATION OF MARKS (column No. 10(a) in the form). INCOMPLETE APPLICATION FORM WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

D.     No candidate will be allowed admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of regular recognized degree course of study after passing the previous qualifying examination.

E.     A list will be prepared for each course strictly on the basis of merit. Tentative date of publication of MERIT LIST: Afternoon.

F.     Selected candidates must get themselves admitted within the schedule dates (TO BE NOTIFIED ALONGWITH MERIT LIST) failing which their selection and claim will be forfeited irrevocably.

11. A. For combination of subjects allowed, candidates are to consult the Printed 'Brochure'.

        B. Submission of Documents etc. at the time of admission must be as per following:

  1. Original & photocopy of Migration certificate (during admission time).

2.     Photocopy of H.S. equiv. Marksheet & admit card for Migrating students (-do-).

3.     Attested copy of Marksheet (H.S. or equiv.), Age proof certificate.

4.     Three copies of Stamp size photograph.

5.     Photocopy of caste/ handicapped certificate (if any).

12. RESERVATION OF SEATS IN EACH CLASS FOR S.C./ S.T./ PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED CANDIDATES:

  1. ELIGIBILITY as per Calcutta University rules.

b.     Seats in each stream will be reserved for S.C./S.T. applicants as per Govt. rules. Separate application form with proper caste certificate (from the competent authority duly attested) will be received from them and the Admission will be made on MERIT basis. If the seats are not filled up by S.C./S.T. candidates the remaining vacancies will be opened for admission to the General Candidates.

c.      SCHEDULE of issue and submission of APPLICATION FORM, publication of Merit list and Admission as per rule 9 mentioned before.

d.     A candidate shallnot be allowed to takeup the subject(s) under the heading (A) if he had not passedthe subject(s) mentioned under the heading (B) in the previous qualifying examination.
