The Great Jubilee Year 2000 will commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ and His continuing presence among us for two millenniam!

The tradition of jubilees began in the Old Testament and has continued through the history of the Church. Jubilee years of times of powerful grace. They are years dedicated in a special way to God. During jubilee years, we are invited to open ourselves a new to the love and life of God - to be renewed in our relationships with God, and to reform our relationships with one another.

Very few people have the experience of living at the turn of a millennium! The Great Jubilee Year 2000 is much more than a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It is truly a unique time of grace!

Pope John Paul II has written, "The future of the world and the Church belongs to the younger generation, to those who, born in this century, will reach maturity in the next, the first century of the new millennium." Through the Great Jubilee Year 2000, all young people are invited to more actively search for, meet, and question Christ.

The Great Jubilee Year 2000, we will dedicate the final months of 1999 and the first months of 2000 to preparing spiritually for the third millennium. The goals of the Great Jubilee Year 2000 are to assist all young Catholics to know God better, to discern the call to life in Christ, and to build God's Kingdom in the new millennium.

The goal of the Great Jubilee Year 2000 is to inspire our youth, students and young adults to take their energy and enthusiasm for Christ into the third millennium.
