India- freedom and after

52 years ago, on the 15th of August 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru brought down the union jack of the British imperialists and hoisted the tricolour.
At the same time, when the whole of India was celebrating the achievement of freedom, one man who had made all of this possible, the father of our great nation... Mahatma Gandhi was nowhere to be seen, near the Lal Kila. He was at Naokhali, giving assurances to the people who had lost everything in the partition.
This freedom had been achieved by perseverance, hard work, love and the humanitarian and rational principles of the mahatma.

The British left a barren nation... plundered and pillaged... today we are trying to fly... like the phoenix.. we shall emerge
