Programme
These programmes for children in elementary school are aimed at building confidence and ensuring that students do not drop out or fall behind their academic work. While interfacing closely with the curriculum of the local municipal school, the programme extends the scope of the material taught. Special attention is given to impoving writing and numerical skills and training students in correct speech in both Marathi and English. Special emphasis is placed on the teaching of art - drawing, painting and collage. Every form of creative and artistic activity is encouraged and whenever possible, classes in other arts and crafts like sculpture, clay modelling, embroidery etc. are conducted. At present, a course on re-cycling waste paper is being conducted. Dried leaves and petals are being incorporated into the paper and unusually effective greeting cards, carrier bags etc. made out of it. Children are taken on excursions to various places, including the various schools run by Krishnamurti Foundation India.
