What is Training?

Learning is acquisition of knowledge and skills and training is the process of facilitating learning.

An effective training is one where a trainer

·         Understands the requirements of the trainee (what does the trainee want to learn?) and thus come out with objectives.

·         Understands the trainees capabilities (level of knowledge and skills)

·         Uses the above information to decide the best way to impart training

This is somewhat like saying that a doctor understands a patient, decides on the medicines to be administered and also a way to get the medicine into the body (oral, injection etc.).

Unless there is a 'synchronization' between the trainer and the trainee, the training cannot be effective.

What is the training approach at LearningCentre ?

·         Customize : Each training programme is customized to meet the objectives and the background of trainees. (Basically we decide the starting point, end point and the path to traverse).

·         Activate Group Learning :Trainees are put into groups 'similar' type (same level of knowledge / skills and same objectives) and provide a channel for their interaction with each other and the trainer. This is done through the  Interaction Page .

·         Use Problem Solving as front-end : Application of knowledge and skill is the key to problem solving. Each training programme creates a ‘base level’ of knowledge and skill on which more knowledge and skills are added through problem solving.

·         Make the right mix of concepts and practice : Both concepts and practice are important and proper mix of the two makes training effective.

·         Mode of delivery of information:  Training programmes are conducted partly through contact sessions and  partly through the web.
