A Sosity (Note the new Indianised, Rationalised and Modernised spelling for Society)which has been established for promoting research and collection of Puzzles of all kinds, Mathematical, Logical & Scientific, Literary and Humorous.
About us A SOSITY (Note the new Indianised, Rationalised and Modernised spelling for Society) has been established for promoting research and collection of Puzzles of all kinds, Mathematical, Logical & Scientific, Literary and Humorous. The Mathemajik Sosity conducts various programmes such as Special Lectures on Mathemajik ( Recreational Mathematics) , (for the List of Lectures please see the Detailed Biodata of Mj. S.A.RAHIM) Mathematical Workshops (Models and charts making), Mathemajik Shos (Exhibitions), Majik Square Dances, Quiz , Puzzles Solving Sessions, Expos (for the Lists of all these programmes please see the Detailed Biodata of Mj. S.A.RAHIM) and Coaching for Maths Olympiads, Coaching Chess and conducting Chess Fairs, tournaments and problem solving, and Mathematical models are also made. We conduct our Annual National Conventions. A quarterly magazine, maj, is published with the Puzzles, questions in General Knowledge, Quotations, Jokes, including "Discover the Humorist in U", a Cross Number Puzzle and Chess Puzzle for the Members to solve. Projects on the above topics are given to work upon and answers are given in the next issue. But meawhile the Student Members may send the answers, and if they collect 40 points or more in four successive issues of maj they get free membership for the next year and a Certificate of Merit. Those who score 100% points get cash award of Rs. 2000/- or equivalent in US Dollars. All Members get the maj regularly. The magazine maj is published and sent to Members every January, April, July and October. It also gives a record of our various activities through its editorials and personal columns .Maj and Books on Games of Numbers, Puzzles, Quiz, Topical Jokes etc. are also available, back issues of maj can be had thro' the internet by email. We also popularise RATIONALISM (as opposed to superstition and irrational beliefs) and Indianisation of English, in the name of INDISH, which is a Modernised and Rationalised English free from the absurd spellings used by the Englishmen. Chapters are formed at Schools, Colleges and other Institutions to promote the objectives of Puzzle solving and encouraging intellectual games. Mathemajik Shos are regularly put up during the National Conventions of the Indian Society for Technical Education and the Association of Mathematics Teachers of India and Engineering Congress of the Institution of Engineers (India).
