MANAGING A GIRLS' HOSTEL

Mathemajik Sosity's GIRLS’ HOME

 RULES AND REGULATIONS

DATED 1.4. 2000

All the members should cooperate and adjust with one another to make their stay here a happy and memorable one.

Any one who cannot so cooperate or adjust with others will have to find accomodation elsewhere 

One can vacate the Home by giving notice at least one month in advance. One is deemed to have vacated only when one’s all belongings including discards, left-overs,if any, are removed from the Home.

Every member should be prepared to leave the Girls' Home in one month’s notice

No gents will be allowed to visit any member except her father or guardian. Even the father will not be allowed to stay overnight. No gent visitor will be allowed to enter the building. Gent visitors will not be allowed after 8.00 p.m. Lady guests can only be allowed with prior permission on payment of guest charges of Rs. 30/- per day per head, payable in advance.

No religious symbols etc., should be placed in the premises.

All members are advised to avoid wastage of water and power and to verify that all the electrical switches and water taps are closed before going to bed or before going out. Pump water is only for the use of II floor girls. Girls in I floor will have to store up Corporation water when it comes for all their uses.

Each member should verify that all the doors and windows are properly closed if she is the last person to leave. While she is inside, she must always keep the main door closed.

Each one should put her waste materials in a waste basket and herself regularly put it into the street waste bin.

Do not lend any of the articles of the Home to anyone else.Do not bring any unusual items into the Home, without the owner uncle's permission. Unusual items means items not generally used by hostel girls.

All items issued to each member should be handed over in good condition to the owner uncle at the time of vacating the Home. The missing and damaged materials will have to be replaced. The water pump,switch of which is in the 2^nd floor, should not be overused. Any damage to it, due to overuse, will have to made good by the 2^nd floor girls.

Electrical bulbs and tube lights when they are fused out they have to be replaced before 10^th of each month by the members.

The rents, the electrical and water bills will have to be paid before the 10^th of next month.

No restrictions should be imposed for the free movement of the owner uncle.

No one should disturb others by any noise or by talking. There should be absolute silence after 10.30 pm. No member should indulge in gossiping about the other members to anyone outside the Home. Nor should listen to such gossiping from other people.

Each member should keep her room, kitchen, toilet, common hall and the surrounding of the Home and the campus clean.

No member should admit any other new girl in the Home without owner uncle’s permission. Members will have to cook their food themselves,if need be, with the help of other members. No outsider will be allowed to come and cook, except with the permission of the owner uncle.

Rents or other dues will not be adjusted against advance. Advance will berefunded only at the time of or after vacating the Home.

Electrical, water supply and drainage breakdowns will have to be arranged for repair and paid for by the concerned members.

Each member should give her correct permanent address at th time of admission.

Soon after washing vessels in the kitchen sink all solid particles should be removed from the mesh and put in the dust bin. Soon after taking bath, hair or any soild material should be removed from the mesh in the bathroom. Otherwise the drainange pipes will clog and flow will stop.

Only unmarried girls will be admitted. Any member to be married will have to vacate before her marriage. Members above 30 years will not be permitted.

All members should be in before 9.00 pm.

If any member has to stay out, she should get prior permission and leave address of stay, and next day go directly to work from there. Where necessary verification of the facts given may be done.

Members cannot avail the phone facility in the Home even to receive calls from their parents also.

Only girls in regular employment or studies are permitted to stay.

Wasting of water or electricity will invite suitable fine

Each member should have a mosquito net. The fan should not be used as a repellent. Fan to be used only in Summer (April and May). On working days fan should not be used by girls staying at Home, during daytime

All members should follow the above instructions and those to be given if  need be, in future.
