PROFILE<\B>
Orient Flight School, the aviation wing of H.I.E.T., is approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Orient Flight School is situated at the Civil Aerodrome in Pondicherry,a former French colony about 170 kms. from Madras.
Abounding in colonial architecture, quaint houses and clean
streets, Pondicherry has excellent weather all year round, permitting uninterrupted flight training. The training is conducted in batches and flying is done in a tower controlled airfield where students routinely communicate and fly in the ATC system. They are Provided exposure to other airfields during their period of training.
The flight training at Orient Flight School is designed to meet
international standards,in accordance with the ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organisation ) regulations and the DGCA, Govt. of India. The five aircraft fleet comprises the best trainers
- the CESSNA 152 & CESSNA 172 and PIPER SENECA-III.All five aircrafts are equipped with the latest avionics and can be compared to the best in any international aviation institution.
FLEET<\B>
The Twin engine ( six seater ) PIPER SENECA-III,the only one of
its kind in India, is available for multi-engine rating. The highly experienced faculty/ flying instructors have a proven track record and their ex-students are flying with several domestic and international airlines today.
The ground school comprises the latest in audio / video instructional teaching aids with modern classrooms, besides a well equipped library of international resource material and aviation journals.Computer-based training is offered to all the
students and is compulsorily emphasized during the training.
