Admission Procedure
The admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course is made through a Joint Entrance Test (JET) conducted by a Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), Government of Pondicherry. The total intake of students at present is 45 and out of which 30 are allotted to the students from Union Territory of Pondicherry admitted through JET, 5 seats are allotted to the students from other states selected by the Veterinary Council of India based on an all-India entrance examination, 5 seats are allotted to the students from Goa subject to fulfillment of certain conditions laid down by the Pondicherry Veterinary College Society and the remaining 5 seats will be allotted to NRI and or NRI sponsored candidates. The annual fee for NRI and or NRI sponsored candidates will be US$ 4,000 per student. The usual reservation policies are followed in the allocation of seats to the students of Pondicherry.

Admission Notice
1. Joint Entrance Test 2003 (JET- 2003) (Advertisement in the Hindu, dt. 20.04.2003)
Candidates seeking admission to the first year B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course offered by this college for the academic session 2003-2004 should appear in the JET-2003 to be conducted on 21st and 22nd June 2003. JET-2003 will be conducted in Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahe & Yanam.
Admission Qualification : A pass in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with 50 % marks in aggregate in Biology / Botany & Zoology, Physics & Chemistry (40% for SC candidates)
Age Limit : The candidate should be above 17 years and no upper age limit.
Application Procedure for JET and Admission: Separate applications are prescribed for JET-2003 and Admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course.
Necessary application forms along with information bulletin can be obtained on or after 5th May, 2003 in person from the Canara Bank Extension Counter, Pondicherry Engineering College, Pondicherry - 605 014 or from the Canara bank Main Branch, Ginjee salai, Pondicherry - 605 001 on all working days on payment of Rs.300/-(plus service charges) and for SC / ST candidates Rs. 75/- (plus service charges). Application forms can also be obtained in person from the following Post Offices on all working days (on or after 5th May 2003) on payment of Rs.300/- (plus service charges) and for SC / ST candidates Rs. 75/- (plus service charges)
Head Post Offices : Chennai Anna Salai, Chidambaram, Chittoor, Cochin, Cuddalore, Tindivanam, Tirupati, Trivandrum, Vijayawada and Villupuram.
Sub/Branch Post Offices : Bahour, Kandamangalam, Kirumampakkam, Kottakuppam, Madagadipet, Mudaliarpet, Nettapakkam, Thirukkanur, Villianur and Karaikal, Mahe, Yanam, Neyveli (LSG).
Application forms can also be obtained by post by sending a request along with two self addressed slips (neatly typed or handwritten) and a crossed demand for Rs.360/- (Rs.300/- towards the cost of application and Rs.60/- for speed postage) and Rs.135/- for SC/ST candidates (Rs.75/- towards the cost of application and Rs.60/- for speed postage) to the Convenor, CENTAC, Pondicherry Engineering College, Pondicherry - 605 014. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of "The Convenor, CENTAC" payable at Pondicherry. Payment by Cheques, Money Orders and Postal Orders will not be accepted.
Duly completed JET-2003 applications should reach the office of The Convenor, JET-2003, Centralised Admission Committee, Pondicherry Engineering College, Pondicherry - 605 014 latest by 2nd June, 2003 before 5.00 p.m.

2. All India Common Entrance Examination for Admission to 15 % of seats in Veterinary Colleges, 2003 conducted by Veterinary Council of India.
The bulletin of information and application form can be obtained on payment of Rs.700/- for general category and Rs.350/- for SC/ST category including examination fee, handling and other charges through a Bank Draft drawn in favour of Veterinary Council of India payable at New Delhi on any scheduled bank.
