Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Bangalore was set up in 1980, to cater the needs of Bangalore and  Mysore divisions of Southern Railway, Hubli division of South Central Railway (these three Divisions constitute newly carved Zone of South Western Railway with effect from 1st April, 2003) and Wheel & Axle Plant (Now Rail Wheel Factory), Yelahanka, Bangalore.
