The School of Fashion Technology was established in 1998 by Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS) in collaboration with National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), (Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India) with a mission to identify young women with professional, managerial, technical and entrepreneurial aspirations, talents and determination and trigger them off to become excellent inspirational leaders in the fashion industry in India to meet the challenges of industrial competitiveness on a global plane.
The curricula for its programs are well researched and recognized by leading exporters, industrialists and academicians to give vital inputs to ensure that the programs are practical and industry oriented. The close interaction between the industry and the institute ensures continuous exposure of the students to the industry
The institute works very closely with institutions and industry organizations to prepare itself to provide professional for the industry for meeting the global challenges of post MFA era and this millennium.
