Univbrands is based on the belief that the best way to learn marketing communication skills is to learn by doing: the same way that you learn to ride a motorbike. Someone rides pillion along with you and shows you how.

Hi. I am Sumit Roy and I've been running Univbrands since 1992. It first started as Univads but evolved into Univbrands because the brand communication skills we were covering often went beyond conventional advertising.

We concentrate on grooming people who are already in marketing or advertising and show them how to leverage their communication from a brand building idea. Our training method uses no lectures or theory. It is done entirely hands on. The job gets done and the training too.

There are four services we offer: Customised training programmes, Learn-by-doing workshops, Teach-by-doing consultancy and e-mail based consultancy

Our client list includes Castrol, Coca-Cola , Goodyear, Hindustan Lever, Ion Exchange, Kotak Mahindra, Marico, Mastek India, Matrix Information Services, Reckitt & Colman and Sony Music. (And that's not an exhaustive list. Just some of the better known companies who have used our services.)

Univbrands has also created and implemented "teach-by-doing assignments" for most major advertising agencies. Name the agency, and we've probably done at least one assignment for them. Correction. We haven't done one for Rediffusion DY&R and McCann Erickson as yet. Otherwise check out this list. What's more important, is that if you or your organisation want to master the new generation skills of integrated brand communication, Univbrands can design a customised training program for you.

And with e-mail, it's pretty easy. All you need to do is pick the brand building motorbike you want to master. Tell us who you want trained (we have to find out what is already known) and by when you would like the training to be completed. For novices, we usually are able to help them master a partticular "brand building skill" within three assignments. For those who are already brand savvy ... it usually takes just one assignment to acclimatise them to that particular motorbike.

Ah yes, there is that. You have to come along with a problem that you have to solve. So if you want to learn "how to relaunch a brand" you have to have a brand to relaunch. Like I said...it's entirely on the job training.

For each "on-the-job" training assignment done over e-mail we charge Rs. 4,000. Because the job gets done in the process, you'll invariably save money by working with us. 50% of the fee has to be paid in advance, the balance on satisfactory completion.
